The Southern Baptist Convention will debate the proposed Great Commission Task Force motion tonight at 7:40 p.m. Eastern, the Committee on Order of Business reported this afternoon.
The motion, made by R. Albert Mohler Jr., a messenger from Highview Baptist Church in Louisville and president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, asks that the convention authorize the SBC president to “appoint a Great Commission Task Force” and bring a report to the 2010 meeting “concerning how Southern Baptists can work more faithfully and effectively together in serving Christ through the Great Commission.”
